Everyone picks. Nobody fights over the aux.
The host starts a ride (usually the driver, or a passenger on a bus), riders scan in from their own phones, and the whole car builds one queue together.
Start a Ride
Whoever runs the music hosts: the driver in a car, or a passenger on a bus or at a party. The host makes a free account once, picks their music app (Spotify or Apple Music) and any genres to block, then taps Start. RideJam shows a QR code and a short link.
Scan and join
Riders scan the code with their phone's camera, or type the 6-letter code. They type a first name and they're in. Nothing to download, no account.
Add, vote, skip
Search Apple's music catalog and add a song. Everyone votes songs up or down, and the top-voted song plays next. On a tie, the rider with fewer songs ahead goes first. Skipping works when the host has auto-play on: when most riders vote to skip, it skips.
It plays in the host's app
With auto-play (beta, Spotify Premium, by request): the host presses play in Spotify once, then the top song plays on its own, one after another, even with the phone locked. Without it: a passenger taps Play. Apple Music opens the song; Spotify opens a search for it, and they tap the song.
Keep the playlist
When the host ends the ride, everyone still on the ride page lands on its playlist. Share the link, and open any song in Spotify or Apple Music to save it.
Planning a bus or a party?
RideJam works the same for a formal bus of 40 as for a car of 4. Here's how to set it up.
Anyone can host
You don't need to be driving. Host from your own phone as a passenger: plug it into the bus's aux cable or Bluetooth (ask the charter driver before you board), or into a party speaker.
Everyone joins before you roll
There's no rider limit. Start the ride before you board and drop the link in the group chat, so people are in before the bus moves. The ride stays open until you end it.
Keeping 40 people fair
Most votes play first. On a tie, the rider with fewer songs ahead goes first, so a song only its adder upvoted can't push ahead of everyone else's. Each rider can add up to 5 songs a minute, can remove their own, and you can block genres or artists. With auto-play, a song skips when most riders vote to skip, which on a 40-person bus is 21 votes.
Coming later: a per-rider song limit and an easier skip for big groups.
Good to know
Your phone never disconnects
RideJam never touches Bluetooth or your car. The driver's phone stays connected to the speakers the whole time; RideJam only sends songs to the music app they already use.
Where songs come from
Riders search Apple's music catalog. The host plays songs from their own Spotify or Apple Music. Riders don't need an account or a music subscription.
Get the RideJam app
Hosts: put RideJam on your home screen so it opens like an app, full screen with its own icon. It's free, and there's no App Store download. Riders don't need it; they just scan.

- Open ridejam.pages.dev in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open RideJam from your home screen and log in once.
Android (Chrome)
- Open ridejam.pages.dev in Chrome.
- Tap Install RideJam if it pops up, or tap the ⋮ menu.
- Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app), then Install.
